Position: Director of Nursing


Lic/Certs: BLS, State License





13 week Director of Nursing travel assignment





Client in [CITY & STATE] is looking for a Director of Nursing to help them out for 13 weeks. This is a [TIME] shift position.

Qualifications/Requirements:



*Nursing Diploma or ASNrequired; BSN preferred.




*One years' experience as a DON required

*Current RN license

*Current BLS Certification

*Other certifications may be required depending on specialty

*Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

*Physical Abilities: Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), Pushing, Pulling, Bending.



The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.



*Ensure the efficient and effective use of all departmental resources.

*Ensures record keeping and timely reporting to management of all records relating to the planning, supervision, medications, and implementation of preventive, restorative, and personal care

*As requested, participates in and ensures accurate and complete documentation of admission and all subsequent Assessments and Negotiated Service Plans and discharges of all current and prospective residents.

*During assigned hours, serves as a contact person for family members and/or responsible parties for each resident receiving service. Exercises appropriate professional judgment in assessing and accurately, completely, and immediately communicating to the Care Coordinator, the resident and/or his responsible party or significant other, changes in the resident's physical or mental condition, and makes effective recommendations for action to the Care Coordinator. Documents all such changes accurately, completely and timely.

*Facilitates and maintains open communications among herself / himself and the department staff and the Care Coordinator, Department heads, program consultants, resident private attending physicians, the residents, their families and/or significant others and all other persons, directly or indirectly, involved with rendering of services. Cooperates and effectively interacts, facilitates and maintains open conversation with the Care Coordinator as well as other departmental supervisors.

*Ensures effective utilization of personnel so that an appropriate and qualified complement of staff is on duty at all times. Ensures that staff represents a professional, courteous and caring demeanor at all times to residents, their families, visitors, as well as to prospective residents.

*Personally provides adequate supervision to all personnel working in the community and as necessary assists with the direct care of the residents.

*Provide all resident care, whether personal, nursing, restorative, to rehabilitative which is beyond the skills of the Resident Assistants under your supervision or which is restricted by law to those licensed to practice nursing in the state in which the facility is located.

*Treat as confidential, any information obtained concerning the resident and personnel of the property.



Required Essential Skills:



*Interpersonal Skills - to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and a professional appearance.




*Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.

*Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail.

*Sensory - Visual acuity, ability to effectively communicate
