Provides services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain with emphasis on upper extremity function, maximal independence in activities of daily living, and cognitive perceptual motor function.
Varied patient caseload to include post orthopedic surgery patients, and heart failure & COPD patients for energy conservation.
Provides direct occupational therapy services in accordance with the plan of care established by the physician.
Maintains records on visits to clients; including evaluation, plans for care, client's response to therapy.
Provides education and counseling to the patient and family members regarding occupational therapy treatment regimen.
Re-evaluates the client's progress and treatment regime, making changes as indicated, and under the physician's recommendations.
Supervises care provided by the COTA(s) and home health aides as appropriate.
Work with OT as the main therapy for heart failure & COPD patients for energy conservation
