Travel Occupational Therapist job duties

While job duties may vary depending on the facility you work with, here are some common Travel OT responsibilities:

Assess patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions to determine their needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
Design and implement therapeutic activities to help patients improve their ability to perform daily tasks and achieve greater independence.
Evaluate patients' progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue therapy at home and promote long-term health and well-being.
Use adaptive equipment and assistive devices to aid patients in performing tasks and enhancing their quality of life.
Document patients' medical histories, assessments, treatment plans, and progress accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
Develop and conduct patient and family education programs to improve understanding of conditions and the importance of occupational therapy.
Advise on home modifications and workplace adaptations to accommodate patients' needs and ensure a safe environment.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in occupational therapy practices.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of occupational therapy practice.
Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend adjustments to prevent injury and improve performance in various settings.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Supervise and mentor occupational therapy assistants and students, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
