This position is located in picturesque Hilo, Hawaii, partially known for its natural beauty, including stunning waterfalls and vibrant local markets. The role involves providing speech-language pathology services to students within a supportive educational environment. The candidate will work on-site from Monday to Friday, ensuring that students receive high-quality care and support. Responsibilities include developing and implementing effective treatment plans, collaborating closely with teachers and other healthcare professionals, and tracking student progress. This is a long-term leave coverage role, offering 40-hour work weeks. While the school calendar impacts pay for non-working days, it allows for a consistent weekday schedule to explore the captivating surroundings of Hilo during weekends. The team atmosphere is highly collaborative, with numerous opportunities for professional growth and specialization in pediatrics.
Required Qualifications
Speech/Language Pathologist, School
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) or Related Field
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
State License is Required to Start the Assignment
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in a School Setting, Early Childhood, or Pediatrics
Strong Knowledge of Speech and Language Development, Assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and community members.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with federal and state regulations
