Physical Therapist - Skilled - (PT - Skilled)

This 13-week travel Physical Therapist assignment is based in Harrisonburg, Virginia, a vibrant college town in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The area is known for its beautiful mountain scenery, access to Shenandoah National Park, hiking, biking, and outdoor recreation, as well as a lively downtown with local restaurants, coffee shops, arts, and community events. You will be working in a skilled nursing and senior living environment that emphasizes compassionate, resident-centered care and complete living support. The setting includes short-term rehab and long-term care services, offering a diverse caseload and the opportunity to refine your skills with geriatric and medically complex patients. Assignment details: Travel PT position in a SNF/rehab-focused senior living community 13-week contract, with potential for extension based on mutual fit and facility needs 8-hour day shifts, expected 40 hours per week No on-call requirements Varying patient load with an expected 86% caseload/productivity, offering strong exposure to a wide range of diagnoses and functional levels Collaborative interdisciplinary team including PT, OT, SLP, nursing, and social services Supportive environment for travelers, with established rehab processes and efficient workflows Typical responsibilities: Evaluate and treat adult and geriatric patients in a SNF/rehab setting Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on functional mobility, balance, strength, and safe discharge planning Document timely and accurately in the facility’s EMR Collaborate closely with nursing, physicians, and other rehab disciplines to optimize patient outcomes Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and functional independence This assignment is an excellent choice for PTs seeking meaningful work with older adults, a resume-building SNF environment, and a location that offers both small-city amenities and quick access to the mountains and outdoor activities.
