This Physical Therapist position is based in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, a welcoming New England community known for its tree-lined neighborhoods, strong school system, and small-town charm. The clinic provides a modern, patient-centered outpatient environment focused on orthopedic and sports-related physical therapy, as well as general musculoskeletal and post-surgical rehabilitation. You will join a supportive, collaborative team of physical therapists and support staff who are committed to high-quality care, open communication, and professional development. The setting is designed to be efficient and clinician-friendly, with updated equipment, private treatment areas, and open gym space to support individualized and functional rehabilitation plans.
In this role, you will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop evidence-based, individualized plans of care, and provide ongoing treatment for a diverse outpatient caseload. Common conditions include acute and chronic orthopedic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, spine care, balance and fall prevention, and work-related conditions. You will collaborate closely with referring physicians, physical therapist assistants, and other care team members to ensure coordinated, goal-directed care.
A typical day includes conducting initial evaluations, delivering follow-up treatment sessions, progressing therapeutic exercise programs, implementing manual therapy techniques, and educating patients and families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and self-management strategies. You will maintain timely, accurate EMR documentation and contribute to case conferences and team discussions as needed. Patient scheduling is designed to allow for focused, one-on-one care while maintaining a steady outpatient caseload; specific patient volumes and ratios may vary based on clinic needs and provider preferences.
The clinic generally operates extended daytime hours to accommodate patient needs, with shifts scheduled within a Monday through Friday framework and potential flexibility for early morning or early evening coverage. Weekend work, if needed, is limited and scheduled in advance. There are opportunities to develop or participate in specialty programs such as sports performance, work conditioning, or balance and fall prevention, allowing you to align your work with your professional interests and strengths.
