Speech & Language Pathologist - Skilled - (SLP)
StartDate: ASAP
Available Shifts: 8 D
Pay Rate: $2058.00 - $2120.00
This temporary direct Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity is based in Laurinburg, North Carolina, a welcoming community known for its relaxed pace of life, Southern charm, and close-knit feel. Laurinburg offers a lower cost of living, easy commutes, and a peaceful environment that appeals to clinicians seeking balance between meaningful work and quality of life. The town provides convenient access to outdoor recreation, including local parks, walking trails, and nearby lakes, as well as short drives to larger destinations like Fayetteville, Pinehurst, and the North Carolina Sandhills. Weekend trips to the coast or other parts of the state are easily accessible, making it an excellent home base for both professionals and families.
The position is a 13-week, full-time outpatient SLP assignment with a 40-hour workweek and no on-call requirement, allowing for consistent scheduling and predictable hours. You will practice in a modern outpatient setting designed to support high-quality, patient-centered care. The environment emphasizes collaboration, professional respect, and a shared commitment to helping patients achieve functional communication and swallowing goals. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals who value communication, safety, and evidence-based practice.
Typical responsibilities include performing comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and/or swallowing evaluations; developing individualized treatment plans; providing one-on-one therapy sessions; educating patients, families, and caregivers; and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation team members. You will be expected to maintain accurate documentation within the facility’s electronic medical record system, track progress toward measurable goals, and adjust treatment plans as patients’ needs evolve.
A typical day in this outpatient role may include a mix of new patient evaluations and ongoing treatment sessions, with a structured schedule that supports a manageable caseload. Patient populations may include adults recovering from stroke, brain injury, or other neurological events, individuals with voice or fluency disorders, and potentially pediatric patients with speech and language delays, depending on the specific clinic’s focus. The outpatient model supports continuity of care and the opportunity to build strong therapeutic relationships over the course of treatment.
This assignment offers the chance to deepen your outpatient clinical expertise, expand your experience with a variety of diagnoses, and strengthen your skills in evidence-based interventions and interdisciplinary teamwork. The supportive culture, along with the charm and affordability of Laurinburg, provides a setting where you can focus on high-quality clinical care while enjoying a comfortable lifestyle in a friendly North Carolina community.
