In this position, you will work in a modern imaging department equipped with Siemens MRI technology, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. The facility emphasizes high-quality imaging, patient safety, and collaborative practice with radiologists, nurses, and referring providers. You will be part of a supportive and professional team environment that values continuous learning, protocol optimization, and consistent imaging standards.
Typical responsibilities include performing a full range of MRI examinations according to established protocols, positioning patients safely and comfortably, and ensuring strict adherence to MRI safety guidelines. You will conduct thorough patient screening for contraindications, explain exams and procedures, and provide reassurance to reduce anxiety and improve the patient experience. Daily work involves coordinating with schedulers, technologists, and radiologists to prioritize exams, maintain an efficient workflow, and minimize patient wait times.
The typical day may include a mix of neuro, musculoskeletal, body, spine, and vascular MRI studies, with potential for contrast-enhanced examinations and specialized procedures based on department needs. You will utilize Siemens MRI systems to acquire high-quality diagnostic images, adjusting techniques as needed for patient habitus, clinical indications, and physician preferences. Accurate documentation in the EMR, timely image transfer to PACS, and clear communication of any exam-related concerns are critical aspects of the role.
Patient volumes and ratios are structured to promote safe and thorough patient care, with attention to adequate preparation time, screening, and post-exam follow-up. Experience: 2 years
Travel Experience: 1 assignment in MRI Technologist, Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Certifications: MR-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; BLS-AHA
Float: occasionally to St. Luke's
Weekends: every other
Must be MRI registered either ARRT-MR or AMRIT
