This 13-week inpatient physical therapist assignment is based in Sarasota, Florida, a Gulf Coast community known for its award-winning beaches, warm climate, and vibrant arts and cultural scene. The position is full-time with an expected 40 hours per week, working 5x8-hour day shifts. There is no on-call requirement, allowing for predictable scheduling and consistent weekday daytime hours. The inpatient setting provides exposure to a variety of diagnoses, including post-surgical, neurologic, orthopedic, and general medical cases, offering strong clinical diversity and an opportunity to strengthen acute care skills.
Typical responsibilities include performing comprehensive evaluations, developing and progressing individualized treatment plans, coordinating care with physicians and other disciplines, participating in discharge planning, and documenting all interventions and patient responses in the facility’s EMR. The role involves close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, with an emphasis on safe mobility, functional independence, and timely transition of patients across levels of care.
The facility offers a professional inpatient environment with established care pathways, standardized protocols, and supportive rehabilitation leadership.
