Job Description & Requirements
Physical Therapist - Rehabilitation - (PT - Rehab)
StartDate: ASAP
Available Shifts: 10 D
Pay Rate: $2416.00 - $2490.00
This Physical Therapist opportunity is based in Kilmarnock, Virginia, a charming coastal town in the Northern Neck region. The area offers a relaxed, small-town feel with easy access to the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay, making it ideal for those who enjoy boating, fishing, and waterfront living. Residents appreciate the friendly community, local shops and restaurants, and a pace of life that is both peaceful and rewarding, while still being within reasonable driving distance of larger cities for additional cultural and entertainment options.
You will be practicing in a community hospital setting that provides a broad range of services, including physical therapy and rehabilitation. The environment supports close collaboration between therapists, physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff, creating a cohesive team approach to patient care. As a Physical Therapist, you can expect a varied caseload that may include acute care inpatients, post-surgical patients, swing bed or subacute rehab, and possibly some outpatient therapy, depending on departmental needs.
Typical day-shift responsibilities include completing comprehensive evaluations, developing and progressing individualized treatment plans, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, and providing patient and family education to support safe discharge and long-term functional gains. You will document care in the facility’s electronic medical record, participate in care conferences as appropriate, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives within the department.
The day schedule allows for a predictable routine, with coverage generally focused on daytime hours and potential rotation for weekends or holidays as needed to support patient care. Patient volumes and assignments are designed to support safe, quality care and allow for meaningful one-on-one treatment sessions. The smaller hospital size promotes strong working relationships, direct communication with providers, and opportunities to see the impact of your work on patients and the surrounding community.
This role is well suited for a Physical Therapist who values practicing at the top of their license in a supportive, community-centered setting, while enjoying the natural beauty and coastal lifestyle that Kilmarnock and the Northern Neck region have to offer.
