Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening (8)
Shift Time: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (7 hours, 30 minutes shift with 30-minute unpaid meal break)
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, alternating weekends and holidays
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (CLS/MLS) for a contract position in a Clinical Laboratory Department. This is a well-rounded, generalist role that requires expertise in multiple laboratory disciplines. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and specialized testing, ensuring the accuracy and quality of test results, and maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory tests and procedures across various departments, including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and COVID Testing.
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including Siemens Vista (Chemistry), Sysmex (Hematology), ACL Top (Coagulation), Clinitek Novus (Urinalysis), Ortho (Blood Bank), and Liat/Eplex (COVID Testing).
Ensure quality control and proper documentation of test results in accordance with laboratory standards and regulations.
Work collaboratively with other laboratory personnel and healthcare professionals to deliver accurate and timely results.
Adhere to safety guidelines, proper handling of laboratory reagents, and equipment.
Assist in troubleshooting any equipment or procedural issues as necessary.
Requirements:
License: Valid NYSDOH Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.
Experience: Strong experience in the following laboratory areas:
Chemistry (Siemens Vista)
Hematology (Sysmex)
Coagulation (ACL Top)
Urinalysis (Clinitek Novus)
Blood Bank (Ortho)
COVID Testing (Liat/Eplex instruments)
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification: ASCP certification preferred.
Skills: Demonstrated expertise and experience in a clinical laboratory environment, strong knowledge of laboratory testing protocols, ability to perform quality control procedures, and proficiency with laboratory instrumentation.
