What You'll Do:
Create and maintain a sterile field.
Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening.
Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies before thecase begins.
Assures all equipment is functioning before use.
Operates and maintains mechanical, electrical, and airpowered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
Scrub all surgical procedures and understand the specialneeds, techniques, and requirements of the individual surgeon.
Ability to scrub specialty surgeries without the presence ofa sales representative including sports medicine and trauma.
Assists RN with completion of operative charge and recording of hardware used during procedure.
Collects specimens and cultures by verifying source and correct tissue identification with surgeon.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required.
One year experience in operating room as a SurgicalTechnician or Surgical Technician training required.
Certification or eligible for certification preferred.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required
