Shift: Night Shift | 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical provides direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients in an acute care hospital setting. The RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments throughout the shift
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status
Accurately document nursing care and patient progress in the electronic medical record
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge plans
Maintain patient safety standards and comply with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois RN license in good standing
Minimum 3 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
