Travel Contract for Surgical Tech for 13 weeks with Lancesoft in Lebanon, NH - Night Shift

Job Details

  • The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) works collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and maintain a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures. This role is responsible for organizing, preparing, and maintaining all instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgery, including managing the sterile back table.
  • The CST anticipates surgeon needs, sets up operating rooms, and ensures all required instruments and supplies are available prior to procedures, while strictly adhering to AST standards and departmental protocols. This position is based at a small critical access hospital with two operating rooms and one endoscopy suite. A light on-call schedule is required after training, limited to emergent cases only (no trauma call).
  • Key responsibilities include maintaining surgical asepsis, handling specimens accurately, completing OR counts, assisting with patient positioning and preparation, and ensuring proper functioning of all surgical equipment. The CST will scrub and assist with basic surgical cases with minimal supervision and support patient care through professional communication and reassurance.
  • Experience with OB/GYN procedures, including Cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and episiotomy procedures, is essential. Familiarity with Labor & Delivery workflows and supply needs is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
  • Ability to scrub basic surgical cases with little to no supervision
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR protocols
  • Experience with OB/GYN surgical procedures (C‑sections, hysterectomy, episiotomy)
  • Understanding of Labor & Delivery unit workflow and supply requirements
  • Proven ability to accurately complete surgical counts and follow discrepancy procedures
  • Experience handling and caring for surgical specimens appropriately
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with surgeons, RNs, and surgical staff
  • Ability to follow call schedules and departmental policies
  • Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
