The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care treatments and evaluates patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Responsibilities include administering oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, airway care, performing diagnostic tests, monitoring patient response, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to support optimal respiratory function.
Active Respiratory Therapist license (state-specific)
RRT or CRT certification (facility-specific)
BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NALS may be required
1+ year of recent RT experience (acute care preferred)
Strong knowledge of ventilators, airway management, and respiratory therapy procedures
