You must have an active surgical technologist certification and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program. At least one year of recent operating room experience is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is helpful. Strong skills in sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and teamwork are essential for success in this role1.
