External Job Details
This outpatient Physical Therapist position is based in Cullman, Alabama, a welcoming, close-knit community known for its friendly residents, historic charm, and relaxed pace of life. Cullman offers the best of both worlds: the comfort of a smaller city with convenient access to larger metropolitan areas such as Birmingham and Huntsville. Residents enjoy a low cost of living, highly regarded schools, and a variety of family-friendly neighborhoods, making it an appealing place to settle and grow a career.
Cullman is surrounded by natural beauty, with easy access to Smith Lake and a variety of parks and trails that support an active, outdoor lifestyle. The revitalized downtown area features locally owned shops, restaurants, and community events that create a vibrant small-town atmosphere. Throughout the year, festivals, markets, and cultural activities bring the community together, offering plenty to explore when you are off the clock.
The clinic is an outpatient physical therapy setting focused on delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. You will join a collaborative team that values clinical excellence, mentorship, and ongoing professional development. The environment is supportive and team-oriented, with an emphasis on communication, shared problem-solving, and coordinated care with referring providers.
Typical responsibilities include performing comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, and implementing a full spectrum of therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and functional training. You will regularly manage post-operative rehabilitation, general orthopedic conditions, work-related injuries, and sports-related injuries. Therapists are encouraged to use standardized outcome measures and evidence-based protocols to track progress and optimize patient results.
A typical day involves managing a structured outpatient caseload with a focus on quality of care and efficient patient flow. Patient volume is designed to allow for one-on-one or small-group treatment sessions where you can build rapport, educate patients and families, and provide thorough, individualized care. Support staff such as physical therapist assistants and therapy technicians may assist with certain aspects of care and clinic operations, allowing you to focus on evaluation, plan-of-care management, and complex interventions.
Shifts are generally daytime hours on weekdays, supporting a healthy work-life balance and allowing you to enjoy evenings and weekends in the community. The clinic space is modern and well-equipped with updated therapy equipment and technology to support a wide range of orthopedic and sports rehabilitation services.
This role is ideal for a Physical Therapist who is passionate about outpatient care, enjoys working in a close-knit, supportive clinical team, and is looking to build a rewarding career in a community that values both health and quality of life. The combination of a collaborative clinic environment, strong professional growth opportunities, and the appealing lifestyle offered by Cullman makes this an attractive opportunity for clinicians at various stages of their careers.
