Job Description & Requirements
Speech & Language Pathologist - Skilled - (SLP)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $2065.00 - $2128.00

his Speech-Language Pathologist position is located in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, a charming New England community known for its welcoming small-town atmosphere, tree-lined neighborhoods, and convenient access to both Boston and the South Shore. Residents enjoy a balanced lifestyle with quiet residential areas, local shops and eateries, and easy access to nearby parks, farms, and nature preserves. The town and surrounding region offer year-round recreation, from walking trails and outdoor activities to historic sites, coastal day trips, and cultural events in nearby communities. West Bridgewater provides a comfortable cost of living compared with larger metropolitan areas, while still offering quick access to major highways and regional amenities. The facility is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center providing comprehensive services to adult and geriatric patients, including short-term rehab and long-term care. You will join an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and other healthcare professionals who are committed to high-quality, patient-centered care. The environment emphasizes collaboration, open communication, and a supportive culture that values clinical excellence and professional growth. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Typical responsibilities include completing thorough evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, delivering evidence-based therapy, and documenting progress in the EMR. You will provide dysphagia assessment and treatment, conduct communication and cognitive-communication interventions, and offer patient and family education to promote carryover of strategies and safe discharge planning. Participation in interdisciplinary care conferences and regular collaboration with nursing and other rehab disciplines is a core part of the position. A typical day includes a mix of evaluations and treatment sessions with primarily adult and geriatric patients in a skilled nursing and subacute rehab environment. Caseloads are designed to be manageable and clinically focused, with patient care tailored to functional outcomes such as safe swallowing, improved communication, and cognitive support for daily activities. You can expect exposure to a wide range of diagnoses, including stroke, progressive neurological conditions, dementia, cardiopulmonary conditions, and post-surgical or medically complex cases. The setting offers meaningful opportunities to develop and refine skills in geriatric communication and dysphagia management. The facility features dedicated rehabilitation spaces and access to specialized equipment and resources that support high-quality therapy services. You will work alongside a rehab team that values mutual support and a positive work environment. Interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences support coordinated care and provide opportunities to contribute to treatment planning and discharge recommendations. Shifts are typically daytime hours, with full-time schedules most often structured around a standard weekday workweek. Some weekend or holiday coverage may be required on a rotational basis to support consistent patient care and timely progress toward discharge goals. The position offers stability, a predictable schedule, and the ability to focus on clinical excellence within a well-established skilled nursing and rehab environment.
