This ARRT MRI Technologist position is based in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, a friendly, close-knit community in the northeastern part of the state. Roanoke Rapids offers the perfect blend of small-town warmth and easy access to larger cities via Interstate 95, making it convenient for weekend trips to Raleigh, Richmond, the Outer Banks, and other Mid-Atlantic destinations.

You will be joining a hospital-based imaging department that serves as an important diagnostic resource for the region. The facility has invested in its imaging capabilities, including MRI, to provide high-quality services close to home for patients in Halifax County and surrounding communities. The environment is collaborative and patient-focused, with an emphasis on safety, image quality, and efficient care coordination with referring providers.
As an ARRT MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Typical studies may include brain, spine, musculoskeletal, abdominal, pelvic, and vascular imaging for both inpatient and outpatient populations. You will work closely with radiologists to tailor protocols to clinical indications and ensure that each exam yields diagnostic-quality images.
A typical day in this role includes reviewing orders and patient histories, performing thorough MRI safety screening, explaining procedures in a clear and reassuring manner, positioning patients accurately, and selecting appropriate coils and imaging parameters. You will monitor patients throughout the exam for comfort and safety, administer contrast under appropriate supervision when required, and document all required information in the EMR, RIS, and PACS systems. Strong attention to detail and adherence to MRI safety zones and screening procedures are essential components of this role.
