Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist jobs in Norfolk, VA offer you the chance to work in a 525-bed academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma facility. You will care for adults and geriatric patients in high-acuity units such as ICU, ED, trauma, cardiac, cardiac surgical, IMCU, and medical-surgical floors. The facility features specialized units for burns, neuro, vascular, cardiac, general medicine, and progressive ventilation ICUs. To qualify, you must have a Virginia RT license, be a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and have at least three years of critical care experience. You will manage 8 to 15 patients per shift, using advanced equipment like the Hamilton Vent Fleet (G5, T1, C1, C6), Optiflow, Vapotherm, Resmed AirCurve, Hillrom Metaneb & Vest, Philips Respironics Cough Assist T70, and perform procedures such as RT-driven protocol vent management, trauma response, bronchial hygiene, non-invasive and high-flow oxygen therapy, CABG post-op recovery, and care for spinal cord injury and chest trauma.
