Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced PCU RN for a travel nursing position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. You’ll provide patient care to individuals requiring medical and surgical treatment, while collaborating with a supportive team. Flexibility to float to other units and hospitals is required.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct care in the PCU, managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
Care for medical patients (dialysis, telemetry) and surgical patients (orthopedic, general surgery).
Focus on pain management, mobility, and preventing complications.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Float to other units and facilities as needed.
Education: Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) or higher.
Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required (Red Cross certifications accepted).
Licenses: RN in Alabama or Compact License.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (18 months with 1 year in PCU or similar specialty considered).
