Full-Time Nuclear Medicine Technologist job duties

  • Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes to patients for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures.
  • Explain nuclear medicine procedures to patients, answering any questions and addressing concerns to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including PET, SPECT, and gamma camera scans, to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality for accurate imaging results.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to protect patients, staff, and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Document patient information, procedure details, and imaging results accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and accurate diagnostic information.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to radioactive isotopes and take appropriate action if necessary.
  • Perform quality control tests on nuclear medicine equipment and radioactive materials to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Maintain inventory and proper storage of radioactive materials, following strict regulatory guidelines for handling and disposal.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding nuclear medicine procedures and post-procedure care instructions.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of nuclear medicine practice.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Nuclear Medicine Supervisor position
Sign On Bonus: $10,000
Required to take call
Grad of an Accredited Program
3 years of Nuclear Med Tech experience
Hospital experience
Preferably, billing knowledge and Charge integrity
BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
MRT from Texas Medical Board required
Must have one of the following ARRT-NM or CNMT. Certified by ARRT or ARDMS
