Job Title: RN PCU
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: 12-Hour Days | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Location: El Paso, TX
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced PCU environment, and hold ACLS and BLS certifications. This position involves working with a 1:4 patient ratio in a 45-bed PCU unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide intermediate critical care to patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
Monitor and assess vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and administer medications.
Assist with patient recovery and post-operative care.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records (EMR) using Meditech.
Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and respond effectively.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN).
Licensure & Certifications:
Active RN License (Required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Required).
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of PCU experience (Preferred).
Telemetry experience (Preferred).
Contract Details:
Guaranteed Hours: Full-time, 36-40 hours per week.
Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, rotating weekends required.
On-Call Requirements: None.
Scrub Colors: Galaxy Blue.
Unit Size: 45 beds, staffed with 10 RNs, 4 PCTs, and 1 Charge Nurse per shift.
